Stitch Fix – Really Worth It?

Laju Farrid Split Back Top

In response to the title – YES! I will recommend Stitch Fix to anyone and everyone that listens. (Yes – they do have Stitch Fix for men.) I mean, it’s a box of clothes picked just for you.. delivered right to your door. You keep what you want. You send back what you don’t want in a pre-paid USPS bag. What more could you ask for?!

For those you aren’t exactly sure how Stitch Fix works, here’s the quick run-down.

  1. Fill out your Style Profile
  2. Set your preferred style budget
  3. Pin outfits you love to your Pinterest board (optional – but SO helpful for your stylist)
  4. Pick a delivery date!

This month’s Fix was the 4th one I’ve received and my favorite one so far.

I felt like my stylist, Jamie, hit the nail on the head for this one. Maybe it had to do with me being extremely active on Pinterest lately?? See – Pinterest is beneficial! My stylist looks at my Pinterest clothing board to see what certain styles I am into lately. She calls my style “Fab Casual Chic.” Ugh, thank you for making me sound cool Jamie. Every Fix she will leave a personalized note on why she picked these certain pieces, along with pictures on how to style them.

One of my favorite parts about Stitch Fix is you can set your delivery schedule to whenever you feel comfortable receiving a package. I set mine for about every 2-3 months – I’m a gal on a budget!

This month, I am keeping three out of my five items. Some months I will only keep one item, or even send everything back. As your stylist gets to know you and by the reviews you leave, your boxes will only get better and better. Take a look at what I received this month.

RD Style Iana Twisted Seam Sweater

I really do like this sweater. I like how it’s cut and hangs on me – but unfortunately I don’t see cold weather sticking around too much longer (fingers crossed), so I would rather invest in some transitional pieces. Verdict – Sent back.

Liverpool Nicole Skinny Pant in Olive

OBSESSED. THANK YOU JAMIE. I am honestly saying these are the first pair of pants I, #1) Haven’t had to hem or #2) Roll the ankles because they are too long. These are my PERFECT size and so comfy and soft and I am so so impressed. I love how they are able to send petite sizing because trying to find pants at the store that actually fit me is a nightmare that I wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemy. Verdict – Keep Keep Keep!!

RD Style Enide Knit Dress

Meh. This pick was just ok – I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it. I actually like the concept of this dress and it was super comfortable, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the colors. (There is some red in there you can’t really see in the pic.) I would be cool if they sent me something similar, but just a different color or pattern. Verdict – Sent back.

Cute. Comfy. I can wear it to work. I can wear it out to get drinks. Check, check, check, check.

Verdict – Keep!

Honestly, I hated this shirt when I opened my Fix and first tried it on. I think I used the word “heinous” when sending Snapchat’s of my Fix to a friend. Actually, I did use the word heinous 100%. I have never ever liked button down shirts. I think they look awkward on me and the ones I used to have hanging in my closet, I would never wear. That is, until I tried this on again. I paired it with dark jeans and ankle boots and boom – I like button down shirts. I think this one is really flattering and not too fitted! Hattip to Stitch Fix for getting me out of my comfort zone. Verdict – Keep.

I have those Liverpool skinnies in olive too! I LOVE them, they are the pant that gets the most wear. The second fave of mine are my cranberry Tinsel skinny jeans. I agree about petite sizing for pants IRL, I’m only 5’0″ and I NEVER find good fitting jeans in the store! My stylist has sent me 3 or 4 great brands in petite sizing. Is there a place where you can see all the offerings that SF has to pin, or is it just whatever they post on their Pinterest wall? Thanks for your post, I agree 100% with your keep/send back choices!
